Patrick D. Flanigan, RN, FNP-C

Patrick lives in Rapid City, SD. He’s a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 15+ years of healthcare experience. Starting as a fitness trainer and clinical massage therapist, he returned to school after back surgery to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Colorado. Patrick then entered an RN program at Xavier University in Cincinnati, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing. His final degree is a Master of Science in Advanced Nursing Practice in family medicine through South Dakota State University.

In addition to acute and chronic disease management, Patrick loves preventative medicine, helping patients develop a healthy diet and exercise regimen tailored to their personal needs and goals. He is also passionate about geriatrics, dementia care, pain management, and end-of-life care.

Patrick is an Air Force vet who served in the 52nd Fighter Wing Medical Group in Germany. He’s a classical pianist – formerly a soloist, instructor, church musician, and accompanist for opera singers. He also co-wrote a prayer booklet “Holy Hour Devotion for the Dying” (apostolateforthedying.com) that is self-published, has been translated into three languages, and is distributed worldwide.

His favorite saints are Padre Pio, Maximilian Kolbe, Mother Teresa, and Giuseppe Moscati. Patrick is a daily Rosarian and has been consecrated to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary.
